It’s Men’s Health Week and as a lot of NHS routine health checks were paused during the pandemic, now is the time to get in tune with your body and mind and give yourself a health MOT.
The NHS has listed three key men’s health facts:
There are many ways we can all be healthier, for example eating better, getting regular exercise and good quality sleep and taking time out to relax.
Our homes and communities can support you to do this and lead a healthy and happier lifestyle. Offering plenty open space to exercise and explore, along with spacious homes for relaxing, working and spending time with friends and family.
Fresh air and open space
It’s important for us all to get plenty of fresh air and finding a home that has outdoor space and lots of green open space would be perfect for that. Many of our communities are designed to support sustainable modes of transport, encouraging cycling, walking and running. You can also relax in your own private spacious garden. Growing your own fruit and vegetables has become popular and is a great way to stay healthy and save some money. Many of our communities offer allotments or you could even have a vegetable patch in your garden.
We create places for all kinds of people, all across the country. We have developments in some fantastic rural and coastal locations which are ideal for spending time outdoors which is good for your physical and mental health.
More living space
Having more space to live will help you to relax. If you have more space for your possessions you will have a better quality of life as living around clutter and feeling cramped can have a negative effect on your stress levels.
Our homes offer open plan living with lots of storage space and modern interiors. The extra space we offer could help you to improve your free time, for example you could set up a home gym, craft room, or an area for yoga and meditation. If you work from home regularly you could create a home office/space in one of our generous rooms, ensuring that you have a healthy work/life balance and can keep your work station separate from your personal life
Our homes are also great for entertaining friends and family, with high spec kitchens ideal for cooking up a feast for everyone to enjoy. Spending time with the people you love is another great way to improve wellbeing.
Friendly communities
Community spirit and a friendly neighbourhood can make all the difference when finding the perfect place to live. You can make new friends, join local groups and start new hobbies which can have a positive effect on your mental wellbeing.
There’s so much more to our communities than just homes. They’re places that feel connected and accessible and are great places to play, meet, explore and wander safely.
All of our communities have local amenities available on the doorstep, from GPs, health centres, chemists, shops often selling local produce, gyms etc. Many of our communities also hold regular events such as farmers markets and fun days for all the family.
So what are you waiting for? Book a viewing at one of our developments today and begin the search for your dream home and the chance to embrace a happy and healthy lifestyle.
