Places for People are the proud sponsors of an event that is challenging people to spend a night under the stars to raise vital funds for the homeless.

The #BigBarnetSleepOut takes place on the night of Saturday 26 March, when people will be spending approximately ten hours sleeping outside to support homeless people in Barnet.

The event – to which we’ve pledged £1,000 – is being organised by homeless charities Homeless Action in Barnet and Together in Barnet. As well as raising money for a worthy cause, the hope is that by giving up their bed for the night, people will gain an insight into what homeless people experience when they’re sleeping rough – such as cold temperatures, an uncomfortable bed and limited sleep.

On the night, people can either join the main event site or organise something themselves – from camping in the garden with friends to sleeping out in the office with colleagues.

The event times nicely with the start of British Summer time, with those taking part benefitting from spending one less hour out in the cold. We wish them the best of luck!
