Leading placemaker Places for People has opened the doors to its new three-bedroom semi-detached ‘Dalby’ show home in Doncaster, part of Keepmoat Homes’ Dominion development.
Located only 10 minutes from the town centre, Dominion is a stunning collection of two and three-bedrooms homes, which have been thoughtfully designed and are available for rent and for sale through the popular Shared Ownership scheme.
The show home is now open for prospective purchasers to visit by appointment, where they will be provided with a tour around the show home and dedicated time with the sales executives to go through the buying process.
The Dalby show home
The show home features a contemporary kitchen/dining room, fully fitted with an oven, gas hob, fridge freezer and plumbing for a washing machine. The generously sized living room spans the rear of the property with French doors leading out to the enclosed rear garden, providing the perfect space to entertain or relax in.
Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms and a family bathroom, with the master bedroom benefitting from an en-suite for added luxury.
The main influence behind the interior design throughout the show home was to create a contemporary home that blended the outside environment inside, giving the home a sense of new beginnings and freshness. Natural materials and textures were used to balance the vibrant, yet earthy colour tones throughout, with some bold feature wallpapers, and natural patterns and textures used. Sustainable living is another key trend in the home, so house plants and greenery were added to the living space - creating a stress-free environment and a haven from the rigours of modern-day life.
Joanne Wagg, Regional Head of Sales and Marketing at Places for People, said: “We are delighted to open the doors to our new development of 227 homes at Dominion, which offer all the luxuries of a brand-new home, whilst providing ample amounts of space for growing families, first-time buyers and downsizers alike.
“The show home really does highlight the quality of homes that Places for People offers, and we have been overwhelmed with the level of interest to date. Our customers have already given us excellent feedback on both our show home and the development. I’d encourage any potential purchasers to make an appointment and find out more about buying through the Shared Ownership scheme. I anticipate these homes won’t be around for long.”
Help to own your home
With shared ownership, you only need to pay part of the price of your home (usually between 25% and 75%) and pay rent on the rest. Your mortgage will be smaller, and you don't need to save as much for a deposit.
It’s a simple and cost-effective way of owning a home, so you can get a foot on the property ladder sooner than you think.
Dominion combines the convenience of a nearby town centre with the beauty of surrounding countryside all on its doorstep, with Potteric Carr Nature Reserve only a short walk away and a little further afield is Lakeside Village shopping outlet and Doncaster all within a 10-minute drive.

INTERIOR DESIGNER Q&A:
Since opening the doors to our show home at Dominion in Doncaster, we have had so many nice comments about how beautiful the interior design is. So, we caught up with Hannah Stelling and Kim Bell from Etch Interiors to find out more about the inspiration behind the styling of this show home:
Q: What was your inspiration for the styling of this home?
The main influence behind our design was to create a contemporary family home that blended the outside environment with the interior design. We used natural materials and textures to balance the vibrant, yet earthy colour tones used throughout. We felt these offered a sense of new beginnings and freshness by bringing the outdoors and garden themes into the home. This included bold feature wallpapers and natural patterns and textures. Sustainable living is another key trend, so we introduced house plants and greenery to the living space - creating a stress-free environment and a haven from the rigours of modern-day life.
Q: Have you followed a colour trend/ is there a colour scheme throughout?
We are all seeking comfort and calmness in our homes and a perfect way to achieve this is the use of natural colours throughout. We have used a pallet of earthy greens and blues with the addition of deep ochre shades. Ochres are bold but still have that earthy undertone making them perfect to add vibrancy and fun to this family home. Many of us are spending a lot more time indoors and this has given us a desire to have a greater connection to nature.
Q: Have you followed a specific scheme with the kind of furniture used? Why did you choose this furniture?
We designed this scheme with modern families in mind. The furniture has a Scandinavian influence with its clean lines, yet natural feel, again this helped us achieve the connection to nature. We wanted to create a relaxed living space where the family can come together, but with all rooms having an emphasis on cosy living.
Q: Which room was your favourite to dress?
We loved designing the whole houses with the main theme being bringing the outside vibe into the home. However, our personal favourite was the children’s bedroom. We love the explosion of creativity and being able to push the boundaries as children do. Safe in the knowledge our design will make someone smile. The bedroom is full of jungle fun, with leopard wallpaper, tropical fabrics, natural rattan touches and creative styling.
We love this show home because it works on two-levels for adults and children. Stylish and contemporary for the grown-ups, fun and exciting for the youngsters. A place where everyone looks forward to coming home and where they are happy to spend time.
