New release of affordable homes at Chapelton available to move into in May.

Places for People is delighted to announce the release of affordable mid-market rental homes at its exclusive Chapelton development.

With a range of homes available through the scheme, the first release of four two-bedroom cottage apartments are available to move into in May 2021.

A mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes available for mid-market rent will also be released in the coming weeks with families being able to move into their new homes during summer 2021.

What is the Mid-Market (MMR) scheme?

Mid-Market Rent is a well-established scheme in Scotland which helps those on low to modest incomes access high-quality affordable homes. 

It’s an alternative option for those who may not be able to buy their own home or afford full-market rent, offering high-quality homes for much less than they would pay privately. 

The scheme allows potential customers to take advantage of moving into the exclusive Chapelton development in Aberdeenshire.

Eligibility criteria for MMR homes:

  • Priority will be given to those on a low to modest income
  • Customers must have a maximum gross household income of £45,443 per annum
  • Monthly rental of the property should not exceed 40% of gross monthly household income
  • Affordability checks undertaken to ensure applicants can afford the rental

The scheme allows people who might otherwise struggle to purchase a home, to still benefit from living at Chapelton.
