Places for People is pleased to announce that 55 Degrees North in Edinburgh has been shortlisted at this year’s Housebuilder Awards 2021. Our development is a finalist in ‘Best Design for Four Storeys or more’ category.
55 Degrees North is located on the waterfront in the Edinburgh suburb of Granton and features stunning new homes which have been designed to make the most of its stunning waterfront location, whilst prioritising high-quality design and meeting local buyers’ needs.
The development offers the perfect city pad in Edinburgh, with homes for sale and rent consisting of one and two-bedroom apartments, duplexes, townhouses and one seven-story corner apartment building set on the south of the site, connecting the two terraces of townhouses into one cohesive building.
The properties have been carefully designed with flexibility in mind ensuring the homes can adapt to meet people’s changing lifestyles. The open-plan design and above-average ceiling heights - as well as distinctive but elegant appearance - maximises the sense of space in every home. For example the layouts in the townhouse flow across its four floors with an open-tread staircase which enhances this fluid feeling. On the first floor, the rear wall is fully glazed with double doors that open onto a decked balcony – adding that additional outdoor space.
Allison Sutherland, Sales and Marketing Director for Places for People Scotland, said: “We are very proud that 55 Degrees North has been shortlisted for Best Design for Four Storeys or more at the Housebuilder Awards 2021. We take great pride in achieving the highest standards, from the overall design of a development through to the individual finish of each property, and this shortlist really demonstrates the care and attention to detail that goes into the homes that we build.”
55 Degrees North, which was developed on a brownfield site, will deliver a total of 430 homes on the 40-hectare site that also includes an extended marina, office and retail space as well as educational, cultural, leisure facilities and open space.
Phase three is well underway and comprises a further 89 apartments — the fourth and final phase will follow in 2022.
The 2021 Housebuilder Awards recognises outstanding work by developers, and the awards ceremony will take place in November 2021.
